The model, identified only by her nickname Game, visited a Bangkok clinic to try Phao Ya, a traditional Thai healing practice that involves burning herbs on the stomach to treat a variety of conditions including digestion issues and menstrual pain.

In the video, Game appears to be relaxing on the spa table with a towel and herb mixture over her stomach before things quickly take a sinister turn. A doctor using a tea light candle ignites the mixture, causing flames to rapidly spread onto the model’s clothes as well as the table.

The graphic footage shows Game flailing about and screaming out in pain as orange flames coat her stomach. She then rolls onto the floor while frantic healthcare workers work to extinguish the blaze.

In another alarming twist, the doctor providing Game the treatment can be seen in the footage backing into the corner, away from the blaze, while a colleague and Game’s boyfriend frantically fight the flames.

The clinic’s receptionist then sprayed water on Game while an assistant used pillows to put out the flames, according to a complaint the model filed to the Thai Health Ministry on Monday.

“I suffered a lot of pain. I am afraid that it would impact my work. In another week, I need to work again, but I still have to receive treatment at the hospital,” she wrote in the filing.

Game said she suffered third-degree burns and painful blisters covering most of her back and under her breasts that she has been receiving treatment for months to combat.

“I had to be in bed for two months. I was still lucky there was no infection. We used insurance, but my hospital bills were expensive. The clinic didn’t help us. Now it’s affecting my work,” she said.

“My treatment is still ongoing, and my injuries have not yet fully healed. Meanwhile, the case with them has not progressed,” Game added.

Her attorney, Thai celebrity lawyer Guntouch Pongpaiboonwet, also known as Gun Jompalang, joined the case after Game and her boyfriend claimed the clinic refused to take responsibility for her injuries.

“The clinic and doctor declined to take responsibility, shifting blame between the parties involved,” her attorney said. “My client has had to bear the hospital bills on their own and her wounds are not even healed. I am assisting them to ensure that those responsible pay the suitable compensation.”

Health ministry official Doctor Rungruang Kitpathi said it was the first time they received a complaint about the treatment and that the ministry would investigate.

Phao Ya uses heat therapy and herbal remedies to treat various physical ailments, including menstrual pain and various digestive issues.
