These are the colorful toys your pup will love, according to TikTok’s popular dog vision filter

Maybe because I have a dog, I watch more dog videos than the average person on TikTok. And lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of videos about the “dog vision filter” on the social media platform. The thing is, for a long time, people thought dogs were colorblind. But research over the last decade or so proved that dogs can actually see a small spectrum of colors — mostly blues and yellows — according to the American Kennel Club. Pet Carrier Bag

Now, TikTok creators are using a filter to look at their homes in a similar way to their dogs. Some people even discovered their dogs loved a certain toy or a specific Disney Minions blanket, possibly because it was blue or yellow.

With that in mind, I recently used the dog vision filter to look at my own mostly gray and beige-decorated house. And when I looked over my dog’s toy basket, his favorite toys stood out. Through the filter, his favorite toys lit up in blue, yellow and a little lime green, like his squeaky Kong tennis balls. No wonder he gravitates to these toys more often!

Knowing this now, I started to invest in mostly blue and yellow toys for my dog. If you want to do the same, take a look below at these seven dog toys your pup can actually see in color.

This was actually one of the very first toys we gave my pup. He’s so obsessed with it that we’ve purchased an extra to keep at my parents’ house when we visit. Any dog that comes over for a play date naturally goes to it as well. It’s blue, soft and very squeaky.

Playology’s scented toys will get your dog excited and keep them playing for a while. This yellow rope tug toy smells like chicken, and there’s a peanut butter-scented blue option as well. We’ve had the yellow one for over a year and it still smells like chicken.

Hasbro expanded its NERF DOG collection in July with its NERF DOG Line at PetSmart, and as you can probably guess from the name, everything glows in the dark. My dog especially loves this sling-shot-like duck, whether it’s in the daytime or glowing at night. The duck’s head has a little pocket you can place your fingers in, and when you pull back the rope tail, you can launch it up to 75 feet. I’ve personally only launched it a short distance in my apartment, but we have fun either way. You can also use a lamp to “charge it” and make it glow, or there’s a portable glow charger you can purchase separately.

This set includes blue and yellow soda and popcorn for your pup. Additionally, it features the brand’s “crazy crinkly” effect and a squeaker in each stuffed toy. Whether you’re a movie buff or your furry friend loves his DogTV, this set is sure to be a winner.

Can you think of a more iconic blue and yellow character? This plush Minions toy has rope arms and a squeaker inside all dogs will love.

Wild One’s Tennis Tumble toy has a tennis ball inside that, with some determination, your dog may be able to get out. Otherwise, they may spend a long time occupying themselves and trying to get it out. Get it in the dog-friendly blue color for your pup.
