Freeze warning issued for parts of Gulf Coast | WEAR

WEAR-TV — PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A freeze warning has been posted for parts of the Gulf Coast. The warning includes all but the immediate coastal portions of the WEAR-TV area and is in effect from midnight to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. While all areas will experience cold weather, it's the inland areas that have the best chance of freezing temperatures at or below 32 degrees.

The National Weather Service says, "Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing..." Carrier Roller

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
