ASUS EG500-E11 Short Depth Server Video - ServeTheHome

As a quick one, we have a video of the ASUS EG500-E11 we reviewed in late August. After doing the review, we had quite a bit of interest, so before we put it in the shipping box, we decided to do a quick video.

You can find the video on YouTube here: Server Rack Width

As always, we suggest watching this video in its own window, tab, or app for the best viewing experience.

For those who missed the original review, this was a system we first saw at SC22. We were excited about the system since it was a very short-depth server with a new 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable socket (and we will assume Emerald Rapids 5th Gen support) and tons of expansion.

That expansion included a rare capability to support five different form factors of storage in redundant configurations which is something we almost never see. Especially given that this system did not have 3.5″ hard drive bays.

Those storage options included a secret SATA compartment that we missed on the first go-through of the server.

We know most STH readers read, and YouTube viewers watch, but this was a fun server that we only featured on the main site, and after feedback, we realized we needed a video as well. As a result, we have a video version.

This was a cool server, and we got feedback, so something we wanted to try for the future was whether we can do videos after doing the main site article. That offers a bit more flexibility in our production schedule.

If you missed the original review, certainly the video version is worth a look. We also have shortened the video format from a year or two ago.
