Berry Global Group Inc. is adding new stretch film lines at a company facility in Tennessee.
The Evansville, Ind.-based plastics processor said a 25,000-square-foot addition in Lewisburg will provide enough room for three new lines that "will support the growing demand for Berry's highest performing, sustainable stretch films." Shrink Wrap Plastic Film
The project also will upgrade capacity of an existing post-industrial resin reprocessing system and extend a rail spur for resin handling, the company said. Berry expects to add 10 new jobs in Lewisburg as a result.
"Through collaboration with its OEM supplier, Berry will complete the installation of one cast line to support 20 million pounds of added capacity for ultra-high-performance films. By investing in the new cast line, Berry benefits from the advanced technology needed to increase capacity in its most sophisticated stretch films. Upon installation of the first new line, Berry has plans to add two additional cast lines in the facility," the company said in a statement.
Work in Lewisburg will increase production of stretch film brands including Transcend and Stratos, both designed to reduce the use of virgin resin, the company said.
